Reviewing more Pictures

Received and e-mail from the solar company, I should receive my part on Wednesday. Depending on the time they deliver it I may be able to install it. Otherwise it will have to wait until Friday, as I will be at the gallery on Thursday.

I was contacted by a friend to assist her in finding a painting for her new office. I will be going out to see what I may find for her.

Still going through my SD cards, here are some more photographs.

Getting in My Walking Miles

Started the day picking up a replacement tire for my sister's truck. It seems she ran over something very sharp and it cut a line through the tread almost all the way around the tire. Replaced under warranty for a nominal charge.

I attempted to take my walk after but it was raining so I returned home.
Laid down to take a nap and was interrupted by a call from the gallery. A women from Panama is interested in ordering one of my metal prints. I explained how she could do it, from my website, when she returns home and it can be shipped directly to her.

I went back out to the Spit and was able to take my walk. Along the way I ran into another photographer, we chatted for a few moments. She had seen my Eagle pictures and complemented me on them.
So a good day.

The Shorebird Festival is this weekend. There is also a Food Truck gathering.

These are some shots from my walk about.

Sister Returns, One Leaves

Monday was spent awaiting the return of my sister from her trip. The flight was delayed over two hours due to weather. Then she had to get the connection to Homer, that flight was delayed, fortunately, and she was able to make her connection, otherwise we were looking at like driving up to Kenai to pick her up. After she finally arrived we went out to dinner and had a nice meal at the local seafood restaurant on the Homer Spit.

Unfortunately, the next morning she woke up sick and ended up staying in bed all day and my other sister decided she didn’t want to stay and rebooked herself to leave this morning, Wednesday. Tuesday we sat around and just chatted and took care of her. This morning I took my sister to the airport and I am now at the toy store that my sister owns. Because we closed it for two days to do things and because of her illness we were unable to do that. Since she is still not feeling well I’m covering the store for a couple days so that we are not closed for four days which would not be good. I will cover the store again tomorrow and hopefully Friday, Saturday and Sunday she will feel better, then she and I can go do some things.

So if you’re in Homer stop by, The Captain’s Toy Chest, and say hello.

Hopefully, I’ll have some new things to post and pictures to post in the next few days until then have a good day and thank you for visiting.

After dinner a flock of Seagulls on the Spit.

Does It Ever Get Dark Here

The night is getting closer to the morning and the morning is getting earlier. I am getting no sleep. Up at 5 this morning, at least Esther is no longer sticking her nose down my throat to wake me up. Nothing like a collie nose rammed down your throat.

Of course they decided they are hungry, jumping around doing their we are ready for food dance. Complete with sound effects that set off the decibel warning on my iWatch. Esther barks, Lola, the beagle howls like she has cornered a fox, Bea, the other collie, just waits to be served. While the first two scarf their food, Bea is very dainty and slowly eats each piece one at a time. Esther and Lola are shut in the mud room for their feeding, food dishes set on the floor quickly and your hand removed before it becomes part of the feeding frenzy. Where as, Bea is served her food, in the kitchen the rug, with a splash of water added.

Completely socked in this morning, I did take a drive to all my usual spots. I have been waiting to catch a shot of what, the Merlin Guide, identifies as a Black billed Magpie. I have seen them around almost every day, today, they put on a little show for me and I was able to get a few picture.

I shot a couple of seagulls in formation, too.

There are more new images in the ALASKA PORTFOLIO

I am looking forward to this weekend as it is the Shorebird Festival in Homer. I am hoping the birds were notified.

Bishop's Beach

Set out for the beach this morning looking for the migrating birds, unfortunately, I didn't see any. I met up with an old family friend, whom I was recently introduced to. The tide wasn't as far out as yesterday, though we were still able to explore some tide pools. See if you can identify what is in this picture.

I did get a few shots of a gull going after fish in the tide pools.

After I went out to the Spit as the creamery was opening and I have been wanting some ice cream. I had a Mint Chip Hot Fudge Sunday for a late lunch. Burned off all those calories walking.

I visited an art store that I have been passing since I got here, always when they are closed. Many very nice pieces.

After, I headed back to the house, figured the dogs might like to get out for awhile.

Eagles Feeding

I went for a drive on the Sterling Highway, some very beautiful scenery along the way.

Saw a bunch of Eagles gathering and followed them, I was rewarded with a bunch of eagles feeding on an otter.
