The Clouds Parted

Today, again, was hot and humid, just hung around attempting to remain cool.

Worked on the internet and read for most of the day.

Went out to the Worden Pond, public boat ramp, after dark to catch the Neowise Comet. There were clouds on the horizon and it looked as though it was going to be another night with no pictures.

I stayed out and then the clouds parted. I was able to get a couple of pictures. Tonight, I will again attempt to get some more.

Cloudy Again

Went out, again, found the perfect spot to photography the comet, unfortunately, the clouds covered the horizon blocking the view.

Still awaiting word on the repairs to the truck. They were supposed to get the part Saturday and install it today. Fingers crossed.

Hot and muggy, so just kicked around the house.

Bacon wrapped scallops for dinner, yum.

This is "Lola" my sister's beagle.

Another Attempt to Photograph the Comet

Went out tonight in another attempt to photograph the comet. Beautiful clear skies, except on the horizon right below the Big Dipper. I stayed out hoping the the clouds would part, for even, an instant. They didn't and so looking around I took a few night shots.

The day was hot and muggy, so we started by going to the corner lemonade stand for a drink and a cookie.

Later, we ran into town pick up a few item. We were able to get in and out pretty quickly for a Saturday. the beach traffic had not yet fully developed for the day.

Dreary Day with Clouds

Don't even have a picture for you today.

The day started with a downpour and the temperature dropped. Couldn't get out in the morning and the clouds stuck around all day.

Nothing to do but work on the internet and do bills.

Hopefully, there will be better weather tomorrow, though, it is supposed to get hot and then hotter.

Still, awaiting word on when the next part of the journey will begin. It keeps getting delayed, so it looks like I may be in Rhode Island for another month.

Lobsters and clams, you have been warned.

Tripping on a Hike

A Lone Boat on Worden Pond
in Wakefield Rhode Island
Worden Pond, early evening.
Wakefield Rhode Island

Today, I mostly worked on the computer and took some pictures, experimenting with new filters.

I did go to Roma Point, to take a hike, was told there may be seals, there weren't. Very few birds. also.

Though, on the hike out, I was distracted by three women coming off a side path, and unceremoniously tripped at their feet. There was a root sticking up which I caught my foot on. Fortunately, I was cradling my camera and it was fully protected. I was also able to swing my camera bag, so that it landed on me. Thank You, Andy, my former racing coach when I was skiing, he taught me to fall. This has saved me from injury many times, as he made it instinctual. So, other then, a scrap on my arm and knee, as well as, feeling like a klutz, I was able to continue on my trek

Grilled a nice piece of Salmon for dinner with some fresh corn-on-the-cob, delicious.

Last night I was out at the pond attempting to photograph the comet and again the clouds were very uncooperative. Will be back out again tonight.

Ospreys at Point Judith

My friend, Rick, picked me up today and we drove to some of my favorite places.

He also took me to run some errands, including a stop at Jennifer's Chocolate Shop.

We grabbed some lunch, Clam Strips, at Monahan's Clam Shack, in Narragansett.

After we sent by a couple of pond and rivers to attempt to continue working with some new photographic equipment.

Went out to catch the comet last night and sat for two hours watching the a cloud bank slowly make its way toward me, until the sky was completely covered. I will try again tonight.

Still awaiting word on the repair of the trucks, will be at least 12 days after the repairs are made for them to get here. More time to enjoy all the things I love about Rhode Island.

A day to rest

Stayed at home today and rested.

Had a nice thunder and lightening storm with hail a lots of rain.

Just worked online, read a book and was just lazy.

Talked with a friend, we are meeting up tomorrow.

Hope you like tonights picture, unfortunately due to the clouds I was unable to see the comet tonight. I will attempt to get a picture over the next few days.
