Past Weekend

Worked in the gallery on Friday, had a good day.

A friend called and invited me to see Dianne Reeves at the Lensic Theater on Saturday night, great show.

DIANNE REEVES QUARTET

September 20, Lensic Performing Arts Center, Santa Fe

NEA Jazz Master Dianne Reeves is one of today’s most celebrated jazz vocalists, known for her virtuosic improvisation and unique blend of jazz and R&B. A five-time Grammy winner and the first vocalist to serve as creative chair for jazz with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, she continues to captivate audiences worldwide with her dynamic performances. Joining her will be an all-star band featuring Romero Lubambo, John Beasley, Reuben Rogers, and Terreon Gully.

Sunday, I joined a group of friends to welcome Jane Davis who came back to Madrid for a visit after moving 7 years ago. We gathered at the Refinery 14 for brunch and music by Roadhouse Karma.

I then crossed the street to the Mine Shaft Tavern to see the High Desert Playboys.

Watched the 49ers beat the Arizona Cardinals 16 to 15. Go Niners! 3-0 first place.
