Beyond the Schoolhouse Brunch Plus “Snickers” the pig

 Sunday night the 10th, I cleaned my camera for the shoot on Monday and my camera stopped working. It had fallen from my lap a couple of weeks ago. At the time the only part not working was the focus through the eye view. The lens was slightly damaged at the same time. It was about eight o'clock and I decided that I would drive up to my house first thing in the morning and get my D810.

Monday, I started my car and all the lights on the dash lit up, again. I knew I could drive the car though some things would not be functioning. After picking up my D810 I went to fill my car with gas, driving back to the house the car filled with gas fumes. I was not going to drive with it leaking fuel. Back to the shop, again.

I cleaned the D810, charged the batteries, then I took my sister's car, filled it with gas and met the people I would be following to the sanctuary for the shoot. It took about an hour to drive to the sanctuary.

"Snickers" the Cerrillos, escape artist pig, had been sent to, "In good Company" a domestic animal sanctuary, to live after his latest adventure. Plumbing Problems

 Awoke yesterday to a blockage in the drainpipes, no fun at all. I attempted to clear the clog without success. Called a plumber who arrived in the early evening. It was cold and dark but he was able to locate the problem and clear it.

Shoveled out a section of the driveway so I could open the gate to allow the plumber in. It is a fairly long driveway. Then I had to clear an area around the gate so it could open. Searched everywhere for a snow shovel, it was in the outside closet, I really could have used it to get to the closet.

Snow boots would have helped, of course they are at my house. I hadn't expected this much snow and only had my walking shoes.

Sunrise 11/6/24

 Awoke to a beautiful sunrise, snowstorm moving in today. Went to see the Charlie Overbey Band last night at the Mine Shaft Tavern in Madrid New Mexico. They are the opening band for ZZTop tonight in Rio Rancho. My friend Lance, who is the keyboardist in Charlie's band is attempt to get me a backstage pass for the show. Though it depends on the weather, whether I will make the drive.

Snow covered Ortiz Mountains where I live.

I was contacted by my oncologist’s office and was informed that they had been able to remove all of the cancerous cells during the biopsy. That, along with the chemo they filled my bladder with should take care of the situation.
