Day 7 Headed for Mt Rushmore

Day 7 Headed for Mt Rushmore

Left the Allegheny National Forest this morning. Leaving the rain behind for the moment. Headed up to Eire Pa (in Google language it translated to “pa”, spoken directions)

Picked up I90 west and flew passed Ohio, if you know me you know why. Stopped twice to piss on the state. Entering the state there is a sign that asks “Drug impaired drivers to call #667, I laughed my head off while toking up. Now, if they had asked drinking impaired drivers I am sure they would have gotten lots calls asking for the location of the next bar. Well it Kadish country “Land of the Living Dead”. Love all of the abortion signs, wish they had Fourth Trimester abortions, I can think of a few mothers I would like to talk to about that.

Which I need to mention I have driven through a few states and many back roads. I have seen very few presidential posters on lawns, but the majority of what I have seen so far is $willary ZERO, Jill 2, Johnson 0, Trump 22. If we go by that we are FUCKED. I want to start see more Jill. Leaving Elkhart IN tomorrow headed west get those signs posted.

Tomorrow another long drive as I continue on to Mt Rushmore.

Went to a Chinese restaurant tonight that got a good write-up from someone from San Francisco. Their review compared it to the food in SF, obviously the person has no taste buds or they have been eating at Panda Express. Enough said.

That’s all for today folks.

I know a lot of posts at once, no internet in the National Parks and other areas.

Day 4 Allegheny National Forest

Day 4 Allegheny National Forest

I left early in the morning because I was unable to make a reservation for a campsite. Being it is Friday, I felt it best to get a “first come site” I better get there early.

So began a three-hour drive through dense fog for the first 90 minutes.

The most memorable part of the drive was the profusion of  “no texting” and the change from “Rest Stop’ to “Text Stop”. This seems to me to be a great waste of money. Is it “political correctness” that requires a change, or are just reiterating to the people that are still doing that that they should stop. If they are still texting, then, they are not going to see the signs, so it is big waste of money.

Maybe take that money and remove some signs that are no longer valid. I.e. the one for the gas station that no longer exists, at least four of us turned off for gas.

As to those who continue to text they will eventually be weeded out of the evolutionary chain and they hopefully have done this before reproducing more morons.

So I arrived at the campground and found a space. The campsite has 119 spaces, divided into 5 loops. Two of the loops are closed, and of the three remaining loops there were a total of 4 “first come spaces”, I grabbed the first one I saw, which was the only one in the loop I was in. Turned out to be the best space.

Drove around found the Park Headquarters and got the lay of the park. After grabbing a sandwich I set out to explore.

After a few hours I was tired of driving around and came back and read. Had dinner and went to bed. Waited for the bear someone had seen earlier.

I need to thank my friend Pam for the “care package” she send, I have only gotten bite twice by mosquitos. I must say the stuff smell gross but it works. I was watching the mosquitos buzzing around me but hitting a wall when the got too close. Every so often one goes super sonic and tries to break though, they get within about 2 feet and pass by like a meteorite.
